Sep. 8th, 2006 05:28 amNo callback. Ah well. I'm extremely disappointed but not at ALL surprised. But apparently I'm still eligible for the opera outreach and scenes from opera. I'd like to do scenes from opera.
Damn, but I nailed that audition. I think, anyway. I have to ask Dr. Cornett what he thought when I see him next. :)
Don't be fooled by the sad kitty face. I AM disappointed but not totally crushed. I mean I'm a first year, I can't exactly expect a role. Roger said a sophomore undergrad played Barbarina one year he was here, and a graduate student played her another year. So you can't really expect anything. I just hope it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that I interpreted L'ho perduta differently in the beginning. (Plus in the DVD I have she just SITS there, mind you, in a sitting position that I can't understand how ANYONE can sing in.) I'll play Barbarina some other time. Seriously, I love that role, even though it's so tiny. Dude I'm waiting 15-20+ years for Butterfly, I think I can wait a few for Barbarina. :)
Plus an opera role is probably too much work for me personally on top of everything I have to do this year, lol.
I'm just glad I can sleep now. Which I should do, seeing as I have an 8:30 class.... O_o
