So, Marriage of Figaro was amazing. The performances were the best part. The direction was so-so, and the subtitles just pissed me off to no end. There was so much that should have been played up but wasn't... so many innuendos, so much slapstick that was mild instead of over-the-top. And sometimes the subtitles just did NOT say what was happening, they added words here and there, it was really irritating, and it forced you to interpret it the way the director saw it - i.e., they mentioned the pin in "L'ho perduta," which completely misses the joke. She doesn't say anything about the pin, so you're not supposed to know what she's talking about, and go "uhhh...." yeah. So the direction was weird... but the performances completely made up for it - so much so that I really didn't dwell on the bad direction until it was randomly debated in Italian class.
Going home for Thanksgiving tomorrow morning! Hooray. But I got in the B boarding group... oh well.
I had to cancel my lesson this morning because I've been sneezy and dry and congested. It sucks. I neeeeed more non-drying and non-drowsy sudafed. Stupid Rite-Aid at Towson didn't have it... pardon me for being picky about my sudafed, but when it affects your academics/career, you would be too.
