I'm working on a Strauss piece. (o_o) Yeah it's breath control hell. lol. But okay, this is what my voice teacher said to me:
"You need to lighten up in the beginning [the low part] because you don't sound consistent once you go high, and it will be much easier to go high if you have a brighter feel in the beginning. You're not a dramatic mezzo soprano, you're a young lyric soprano, and you need to sing this as such."
I AM NOT CONFINED TO SOUBRETTE ANYMORE! I KNEW IT! Who knows where I'll go from here if that happened so quickly?
