OOOOO FANFIC IDEA!!

Okay - Tom had to stay in a muggle orphanage during the summer. So... WWII lasted 1939 - 1945. Hmm. Germany attacked London in August 1940 (just researched that). Traumatic experience for the fanfic!! Especially if in September he learns that the orphanage was destroyed! What does THAT set up, hmm?

Ginny: You're so lucky you weren't hurt in that, Tom.
Tom: I know. I wouldn't be talking with you if I had.

Oooh! What if he WAS killed in that? Then there'd be no Harry Potter legacy, would there now? That's a tricky plotline there, hmm. I sound like Myrtle. :P

Ginny closed her eyes. She couldn't bear to look at him. Not yet. He had been so kind to her; how could he be...? It was too much to think about. It seemed impossible that she had become attracted to a boy who was really the Dark Lord. She opened her eyes, and he was now about 10 meters away from her, grinning. She gathered all the courage and energy she had, and stood up. She ran towards him, and threw herself at him.

"Tom, I love you!" She cried.

She was only eleven years old, but all the love she was capable of having for a boy... she had it for him.

Tom became infuriated. "You stupid brat!" He screamed as he threw her to the floor. "You're just my means of returning to life! You're nothing! I don't care about you!!"

It was just as he said this that he realized how cold he felt. He could not remember anyone ever deliberately holding him like she did. And now that that was gone, he felt so alone... and helpless. He stared at her limp body, still in shock at what had just occurred. He walked over and touched her wrist. She was dead.



Don't worry. I'm sticking to canon. He gives some life back to her, because he gets her soul, which is capable of love, so he feels bad, and then once he gives some life back to her, he loses the ability to love, so he stops, and he has to wait for the rest of the life to drain from her, and the story goes as it does in the book.
