So, I still don't know if I got in or not.

This is the story.

The mail center at Plymouth probably thinks I'm insane because I'd been checking there every free minute I've had. So, there was nothing in the mail today. So, I called Peabody Admissions, saying "I applied to the conservatory, I understand you sent out your letters April 1st--"
*cut me off*
"No, no, we told you the first week of April NOT April 1st. So, hang on."
Meanwhile I think they're telling me to hold, but they meant hang in there, so there was an awkward silence. And no, there was no way they could tell me over the phone, of course, but I checked just in case.

I called my mom back. I asked her to look at the sheet (I left it at home) that said everything about stuff being mailed out. It said "Letters will be sent April 1st unless the weekend gets in the way. If there is a delay you will be notified by email."
I sure as hell don't remember getting an email. I'll scrounge through my old mail to see, but if I don't find anything, I'm emailing them and making sure they didn't lose my record (i.e., subtly letting them know they screwed up).

Now I wish my mother didn't say this, because I don't want to get my hopes up, but she suggested that there may be a delay because they need to put financial aid together if I got accepted. I really, REALLY wish she hadn't said that because I don't want my expectations to be ANY different than what they were before except that I'm just expecting the letter next week. I don't want to EXPECT anything, except maybe not getting in so it won't be a letdown if I get rejected. And yet, I still wonder, is that valid reasoning??

edit: Gabby, I know that if you know anything you can't say whether I got in or not, but do you think that is valid reasoning?
